From 1993 to 2018, Michael Bodaken served as head of the National Housing Trust (NHT).

Michael played a pivotal role in the growth of the National Housing Trust (NHT) into an industry leader in affordable housing and “green preservation.” His strategic vision and leadership led to the targeting of grants and loans for energy retrofits of affordable housing. During his tenure, the Trust financed and preserved over 10,000 affordable homes nationwide, leveraging more than $1 billion in financing. NHT provides low-interest loans to affordable housing developers across the U.S. Through its affiliate NHT Communities, NHT owns and operates nearly 3000 affordable homes along the East Coast and Midwest.
