Jessica joined Housing Justice Center in September 2022, starting as a member of the litigation team before expanding her primary focus into policy. Most of her policy work centers around local legislation, working with local advocates to advance tenant protection ordinances that improve the stability and wellbeing of Minnesotans. Prior to her work with HJC, Jessica spent a year as a law clerk in Hennepin County Juvenile Court after graduating cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2021. During law school, she clerked for both the Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services and the City of Minneapolis. Jessica brings her experience working alongside clients from low-income and other marginalized backgrounds as well as her passion for developing creative solutions through thoughtful collaboration. She is eager to support the expansion of affordable housing and the rights of tenants by eliminating needless barriers. Outside of work, Jessica enjoys playing board games, performing with community theatre, and taking her dog Duke to the park.
